Each time (a person) stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring; those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." - Robert F. Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy is speaking about vibrations of energy, unseen forces that work and are set in motion by our actions. We at Accurate Painting understand this.
The feral mother of this cat seemed to lead him to us. Raven had a broken back leg and could barely walk. Raven's mother could no longer care for him and guided him to us. In time Raven was able to walk, run, jump, and play once again. Black cats are rarely saved by centers because of people's misconception that black cats are unlucky.
There is a large feral cat colony in the wooded area behind a cul-de-sac down the street from our home. Time to time we find a kitten wondering either very sick or barely clinging to life. The feral mothers have to leave these kittens behind to care for their many other offspring. We trap, spay, and release the mothers and males when we can and find it impossible to turn our backs on these kittens.
Anyone can learn to help the feral cat population with little or no money by logging onto The Humane Society of the United States
We found Pumkin on Halloween 2014 oozing puss from her eyes and badly infested with parasites. We were able to save her with antibiotics and fur treatment using revolution, (selamectin), an FDA-approved topical medication for cats that pet owners apply to protect against many common internal and external parasites, including fleas and heartworms.
